How Does the Claim Process Work?

Let’s take the stress out of shipping claims. Here’s how:

Take Advantage of the Online Claims Process

Claims are easily submitted through the Parcel Pro platform. Simply identify the shipment for which you want to start a claim and answer a few questions about your shipment.

  • File claims immediately to help with potential recovery of the goods
  • Account and shipment details will pre-populate for labels created on ParcelPro.com
  • Upload invoices, photos, and supporting documentation for your claim
  • Ensure all merchandise and packaging materials are retained until the claim has been finalized, as it may be required for inspection
  • Get up to date status of your claim online
  • Connect directly with your assigned adjuster

Help Reduce Losses

Shipping high-value goods can be a risky proposition. Following a few best practices can help reduce the risk of loss, damage and fraud. 

  • Ensure a signature option is selected when shipping to a residence
  • Double-box your items, using new packaging materials
  • Track your packages diligently and report a loss immediately to aid in recovery efforts
  • Never reveal the contents of your shipment
  • Remove any branded markings, descriptive words or names on your packaging and label

FAQ

The process should go quickly if you have submitted your required documentation.  If additional information is needed, a member of the team will notify you. Once your claim has been approved for payment, it will be paid in a timely manner.

To process your claim timely, you will need to provide:

  • A copy of your invoice or memo
  • Photos of the shipment, packaging and label (for loss of contents and damages)
  • Any supporting documents to help with your claim, including video footage, police report, and more.
  • If a missing content claim or damage, the original carton, its contents, and all packaging materials must be retained until the claim has been finalized and the adjuster has stated they may be disposed

If there is a damage or missing contents claim you must retain the packaging until you are advised otherwise by your adjuster. 

If you experience a loss or damage, you must file a claim as soon as possible to help with potential recovery of the goods.
